Bad Breath (Halitosis)

Most patients believe that the main reason for bad smelling breath is the gastrointestinal tract and metabolism. This is possible and should always be taken into consideration.

In fact, however, about 85% of halitosis cases are due to putrefaction in the mouth. The microorganisms responsible produce sulphur compounds and are located in spaces between teeth, gingival pockets and on the back of the tongue.

Therefore, halitosis can be successfully treated in most cases, through measures such as tongue cleaning, optimal oral hygiene and periodontal treatment.
