Functional
If the child will soon be experiencing puberty, rapid growth and changes, we may opt to use a functional appliance such as the twinblock. This consists of two separate upper and lower appliances which when the child bites will lock the bite in the favoured position, thus growth will be used in favour of the desired teeth position.
