Sometimes a cavity filled with fluid arises from a long standing infected tooth or unerupted tooth. The cavity is accessed surgically, the fluid drained and the remaining cavity cleaned. Sometimes an artificial bone substitute may be placed in the cavity if damage is too big or the area destined to be restored by implants. The offending tooth will have to be treated or extracted.
